      Why Empathy Improves Work Relationships

      · Business and Career

      Dear Luminous Leader,

Empathy is the ability to understand and read other’s emotions.

With this ability, you will have a better perspective of how we think, act, and foster a better understanding of how we make decisions.

In the workplace we meet and work with a variety of people with different views, backgrounds, and opinions.

This can cause potential challenges with workplace dynamics, but with empathy it’s easier to understand what others think and believe to be true to them.

This helps you improve your professional relationships and have a mutual respect for others.

You can improve your ability to be empathetic by:

      1. Walking in others’ shoes.

Try to see things through someone else’s eyes for better understanding, communication, and cooperation.

      2. Try to be positive when you face criticism.

When you show acceptance for honest feedback it’s easier for co-workers to be honest without
the feeling of disappointment or hurt.

      3. Become a better team member.

Be aware of how you behave in workplace environments and listen better, instead of focusing on winning arguments.

      Until next time,

      ~ CBB
