Why In-Person Conversations Benefit Business

· Business and Career

Dear Luminous Leader,

When you are in business, communication is a big part of the sales process. With the increasingly digital world of social media, email and long text chains, communication has become as simple as pressing a button.

That makes it easy to forget why in-person conversations are important.

Sometimes face-to-face conversations are the best way to accomplish certain business goals.

Here are 4 reasons why in-person conversations benefit business.

1. Stronger connections are easier to build in person.

  • If a client never sees your face, they are unlikely to feel a strong connection to you as someone who shakes your hand regularly.
  • Getting to know someone goes a long way in building trust. Talking to clients about their family, business or other personal topics builds a relationship that can last long-term.

2. In-person conversations make it easier to convince people.

  • When you see their faces, you know you have their full attention. It’s easier to sway them to your point of view when they are in a room with you.

3. Face-to-face conversations let you see the non-verbal cues, as well as, hear their objections.

  • Body language is a big part of how we communicate. It can reveal how you’re feeling or how someone’s feeling about what you’re talking about.

4. Problem-solving is more effective in person.

  • When there are problems with your team, a client, or an investor, having the conversation face-to-face makes it easier to come up with options and solutions.

Until next time,

~ CBB
